EFT Training and Supervision
AAMET Approved EFT Level I
These are the skills and areas of knowledge that will be taught in the AAMET  EFT Level 1 training course. The trainer will assess student progress by observation and question and answer throughout the training. There is no formal assessment at Level 1. Level 1 is not a practitioner level qualification. Level 1 trainees may work with friends and family and therefore can have non-paying clients.

Competency:
  • Regard for personal safety, both physical and psychological.
  • Awareness of own internal processes and behaviour and their effect on people; self-monitoring & self-supervision.
  • Awareness of own level of competence and expertise, with referral to other professionals where appropriate.
  • Recognition of areas for development and appropriate action.
  • Commitment to regular application of EFT for personal issues, including the Personal Peace Procedure.
Theory and Background Knowledge & Understanding
Competency:
  • Knowledge of the origins and the background of EFT and Meridian Therapies.
  • Knowledge of potential side-effects of EFT and contra-indications.
  • Knowledge of the “Basic Recipe”, shortcuts and additional EFT points.
  • Understanding of the principles and implications of Psychological Reversal.
  • Understanding of the importance of being specific with set-up statements and reminder phrases.
  • Knowledge of the SUD measurement scales.
  • Knowledge of the importance/significance of working with specific events/memories.
  • Awareness of VOC measurement scales.
  • Knowledge of the principles of “Borrowing Benefits.”
  • Awareness of how energy toxins affect clients.
  • Understanding the importance of water / hydration.
  • Able to give example of the Generalization Effect.
EFT Skills and Practical Applications
Competency:
  • Able to formulate specific set-up statements/reminder phrases relevant to the client.
  • Able to ask relevant questions enabling person to identify aspects and core issues.
  • Able to clearly demonstrate the location of Classic EFT points, including 9 Gamut to another student and guide them through the procedure at an appropriate pace.
  • Able to use a range of approaches for working with specific events. For example: Movie Technique, Classic EFT and shortened EFT.
  • Able to work with pain and physical issues using a range of approaches, including “chasing the pain”, through underlying emotion metaphor.
  • Able to apply EFT for cravings.
  • Able to handle intense emotions.
  • Able to test / evaluate the results throughout and at the end of the session.
